If you haven't heard the name Bruno Mars then you must be a martian. Getting arrested for Cocaine possession aside, Bruno Mars is one of R&B's rising stars. With a voice smoother than freshly Naired legs and lyrics as cute as the little girl from 'Despicable Me' (Shout out to my boy @BrianObnoxious), Mars has captured the hearts (and panties) of many 'beautiful girls all over the world.' If you don't know his name then you definitely have heard his voice as he was featured on B.O.B,'s smash hit "Nothin' on You" (as well as Travis McCoy's summer hit "Billionaire").
Today, Bruno Mars released his much anticipated debut full-length album "Doo-Wops and Hooligans." It's a very impressive debut album chalk-full of soulful sexy songs, island jams, and sappy love ballads. Mars really proves himself as a multi-faceted artist with the different genres and musical influences he showcases. It is definitely a record worth giving a listen to. Recently, he released his debut single from this record that has been blowing up on stereos and iPods across the globe titled "Just The Way You Are." Juicy Justin's Daily Song: Bruno Mars "Grenade"
I wrote a little blog about revenge the other week and this song is definitely in the same vein as that blog. Many of us have fallen for a person who has blatant disregard for our own personal feelings, yet we'd still give them the world and a dozen roses. This is Mars' personal tale about that very situation and it makes for my favorite song on the record. This song encapsulates what it really feels like to be in a one-sided relationship, and it's a big "fuck you" to those that won't even try to meet another person half-way. It's also the first track of the album, so it's a very swift and quick ass kicking from the start. Ladies and gentleman, I think we have a star on our hands...
